Denver Country Club Neighborhood Information
Country Club, located three miles from downtown Denver and minutes from Cherry Creek, is a stately, tree-lined neighborhood steeped in local history. Dignitaries such as Mayor Steel and other social elites settled in Country Club, and many renowned architects such as Jean Jacques-Benedict, Maurice Biscoe and Frederick Harnois designed showcase mansions in, what remains, a grand neighborhood.
This highly desirable, exquisite area sits north of the actual Country Club, with its hallmark Mediterranean gate marking the original entrance at 4th and Franklin. Streets and lots are typically more spacious than the grid system of many other communities. Home styles, built primarily in the 1910′s and 1920′s, are vast with traditional Colonial mansions, enormous Tudors, Denver Squares, Gothic, and Spanish-Style as well as 20th century revival styles.
Denver Country Club remains one of the premier membership-only clubs in the state, affording amenities such as an 18-hole golf course, hockey, ice-skating, tennis and swimming.
