With one of the most highly educated workforces in the country, Colorado’s commitment to education cannot be overlooked. Many of Colorado’s primary and secondary schools have received national accolades. In 2014 the U.S. News Best High Schools list included 88 Colorado schools; 14 gold medal schools, 31 silver medal schools, and 43 bronze medal schools (1).

Denver and Metro Area Public Schools

The metro area is home to more than 10 different school districts including the acclaimed Douglas, Jefferson, Denver, and Cherry Creek School Districts. A handful of the schools in these districts participate in the intensive International Baccalaureate (IB) program which focuses on success in higher education and offers a special diploma. Schools that host the IB program include but are not limited to: Alameda, Dakota Ridge, Columbine, Smoky Hill, Littleton, Douglas County, Chaparral, and ThunderRidge High School.
